Carting

Come and teach your big dog something new all fun based! (Open to all big breeds of dogs).

Of course, big dogs were made for pulling carts. Back in time, they were true working dogs and they would deliver many items for their masters: milk, post, beer – anything really that needed transporting.

So, how do you begin doing carting with your dog? Well, it requires a good degree of obedience so this can start as soon as you get your puppy. Being under control on a lead is a definite need before you even think of putting them in a cart. Recalls and stays are also required and later, if you take part in tests or just for practicality, is the ability to walk backwards both in and out of the cart. Draught assessments are also done in at this club. The North West Carting Club will be doing displays in the summer.
